FASD Beyond the Basics

Dates: July 23rd, 2025 to July 24th, 2025
Introduction to FASD is a pre-requisite for this training. Training is conducted 9:00 am - 12 pm in 2 3-hour virtual sessions. Attendance at both sessions is expected to successfully complete this training and receive 6 SW CEUs if eligible. An attendance certificate is available also.
This is a follow-up training to Introduction to FASD. This training takes a deeper look at the effects of FASD in children and youth. We’ll explore how alcohol damages the developing brain and subsequent effects on day to day living. Stigma is discussed as a barrier to services. A process for developing interventions to support those with FASD is described and key components in planning for transition age youth will be reviewed.
